It deserves its 5 stars. Very clean and well-kept place. Visited their restaurant The Carriage House couple of times.
-
we had chosen the hotel for our last days in Ireland, only 30 min to the airport. Absolutely great, that's how Ireland is fun, unique combination of historic manor house and modern hotel business. 2 perfectly maintained golf courses at reasonable prices.

Nice old building and grounds open for walking around
New rooms are small and similar standard to an ordinary hotel. front desk were not clear or helpful on changing rooms
-
Hotel was far too busy and staff were unable to cope well.
-
I really noticed the staff. They were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean with lots of seating. The food was better than any other hotel i have stayed in.

I was terribly disappointed with my visit to carton house. When we first arrived at 2.30 our room was not ready. No valet parking Dirty lobby floors Dinner was not up to standard Walk to hotel room was approx ten min walk from lobby. Small bar, guests drank mainly in hotel lobby which was freezing!! Completely overpriced.

I loved Carton House! The staff, rooms, spa, food and grounds are all brilliant. It is a great place for getting away from it all and for utter relaxation.
Nothing, I cannot fault it.
-
Nice country house with lovely walks around the golf course
No smoked salmon on breakfast buffet
-
spacious and luxurious with excellent staff. the food was also a taste to remember with the steak and red pepper and chocolate sauce we had in the golf club the best.

The location would have been lovely had this not been for the weather. Couldnt use the grounds or tennis courts because of severe rain which made it quite hard work. The pool was therefore too busy with young children till 7.30pm on an evening.
Both my daughter and I went for an exspensive treat after her sitting 9 stressful gcses. When we booked into the hotel on the Thursday we were told they didnt do waxing, tinting, hd brows or st tropez tans, just plain message and facials. They were very limited on availability and only I managed to get a facial and massage at 10.30am on saturday morning. Massage was very good but we were looking forward to being really pampered and coming home looking glowing. This did not happen. Lovely location ruined by weather and lots of kids therefore in the pool which we therefore didnt use. Food very very limited to real choice. Main restaurant very little choice with select 5 chice of a la carte menu so only ate one night at golf club house. Lovely waitress and food presented although she also admitted all staff thought the restaurant and other peolpe that usually went in to the club house mentioned what poor choice it was so much improvement required there. Think this hotel suits anniversary couples, adult birthday treats, golfer weekends romantic weekends. Would not aim at girly weekends as so limited.

The location is beautiful and the countryside surrounding the house is so scenic. It maintains old-style service in a contemporary setting. The spa was excellent and the restaurant was good too. While there were quite a few families there, the atmosphere was calm and relaxed and the children were well behaved. A perfect location for a romantic night away.
I had no mobile phone coverage at all. While it is nice to retreat from the world. I would still like to be able to connect with it and be contactable, if necessary. Also, the Wifi connection in the bedroom was very poor.

We liked everything about the Carton House. The price was excellent and the golfing was great. Everybody was extremely helpful and kind. The breakfast was wonderful. We will definitely return to the Carton House Hotel. It would also be a great place for a destination wedding.

Loved every moment of our stay at Carton House. The warm welcome we got at reception set the tone for our stay, friendly and attentive staff throughout, luxurious accommodation, delicious food in the Linden Tree restaurant. Only stayed one night, not nearly long enough, look forward to returning and would recommend.
